This route was planned by komoot.
From Oropa, drive along the Tracciolino (Strada del Canal Secco Trucco e Cavalle, 45.6251242N, 7.9818986E) for 5.7km, until the entrance to the Strada Alpetto/path D41 Beato Pier Giorgio Frassati (45.5901333N, 7.9725056E). After a few dozen meters, leave the asphalted farm road and, at the first bend, take the D41 path on the left which, always well marked and visible, https://d2exd72xrrp1s7.cloudfront.net/www/1j/1jaaxs9rcbajs16nr2vqz0jorc58ihs9rt-p539638201-full/1942187eaa4?width=3072&height=2304&crop=false&q=70 will run parallel to the road, occasionally intersecting it, up to Alpetto Superiore (1500m above sea level, 45.6018650N, 7.9659072E). We turn left and start to climb the Costa Muanda (frequent "cairns" signposts) on grassy terrain that is quite steep at times (a very pleasant deviation to the left 45.6025986N, 7.9646575E towards the delightful Sette Fontane mountain pasture) up to an altitude of 1700 metres above sea level, after passing a small rocky spur (with a commemorative plaque of the saint) and a short flat stretch, https://d2exd72xrrp1s7.cloudfront.net/www/1e/1enul1bmnalcun1iysk0bf6is58ihsbeh-p539638204-full/1942187f2a9?width=3072&height=2304&crop=false&q=70 the path continues, substantially unchanged in its characteristics, bending slightly towards the NNW following the orographic line of the ridge and from here (45.6101908N, 7.9624311E) entering the boundaries of the Special Nature Reserve of the Sacred Mount of Oropa from which you begin to enjoy a splendid view of the Elvo valley. https://d2exd72xrrp1s7.cloudfront.net/www/1v/1vcr0wly8bvaz1r9eu34xhv19x58ihscng-p539638210-full/1942187f8dd?width=3072&height=2304&crop=false&q=70 At 1996m above sea level you reach Poggio (45.6145794N, 7.9591219E) from which, in the summer season, you can return to Oropa by descending from Cascina Mora on D02 or continue towards Colle del Limbo and from here (on EEA fixed rope passages) to the top of Monte Mucrone (2335m above sea level). We return from the same route taken when going up.
