This route was planned by komoot.
First of all, of course, altitude correction again: it was 840 meters of ascent and descent... Stupidly, since my bike ride yesterday, the back of my right hand has swollen somehow, as if someone had implanted a silicone implant... :-// So today a hike: It was the second part of my Waalweg tour on the program, which I had canceled 2 days ago... We started on the Latschander Waalweg towards Kastelbell. Everything went well until the Waalweg was closed with a grating just before Kastelbell. So it was down to the village and then back up to the Waalweg... :-// The Schnalser Waal followed later, before I reached the Juval Castle or the Schlosswirt, where I stopped for lunch. This should take revenge... :-// Reinhold Messner leased all the land around Juval Castle to others: so did the castle landlord and also the vineyards (allegedly to someone from Germany)! Admission to the Messner Mountain Museum (MMM) costs €11.50! I thought, pay, go in, photos, go! Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! Juval Castle is THE AMAZING! Look at the photos and make up your own mind! It absolutely knocked my socks off! I was in the castle for so long that I ended up having to hurry to get to Tschars via the Stabener Waalweg. In the end I missed my train and "unfortunately" had to stop for a beer at the Kesslwirt before the next one left at 6:50 p.m.! At the end it should be briefly explained why it should be avenged that I stopped at the Schlosswirt: When I spoke to the ticket controller about Messner at the end of my Schloss Juval tour, he said he had been here 20 minutes ago and then flew somewhere else by helicopter with a mountaineer colleague... I heard the heli when I was in the Schloßwirt enjoyed my meal... Well, would have, would have been, if... In the end it was a great day! The irrigation channels are a dream and I can only recommend Juval Castle to everyone! It literally blew my socks off! Full of dreamlike experiences, I am now closing the chapter on June 17th, 2022 and heading out on the balcony to my glass of white wine... Good after you all!
