A wonderful round trip that I recommend to everyone. You never stop getting to know the areas around Bologna, in this case this trek has allowed me to get to know an extremely fascinating area in many respects. Difficulty: easy / medium demanding Travel times indicated: average 6 hours Signage: excellent The route is suitable for everyone, young and old. There is the possibility to vary the round trip. If you follow my tour, counterclockwise, you will first follow the north slope and you will have an easier route immersed in the woods. The southern side is the most fascinating but also the most demanding due to the difference in altitude. Nothing that can't be tackled but certainly for those who are not trained, the advice is to follow the route clockwise. The southern slope being exposed to the sun, it is advisable to do it in the afternoon in this period until spring, with strong heat it could put you in serious difficulty. Beautiful ride, some steep sections, I don't recommend doing it backwards. There is the possibility of cutting the last piece (about 5 km less) at the height of the speleology refuge. The return can be done without problems even in the dark as it is a comfortable dirt road. I recommend not in the middle of summer, the journey is totally in the sun.
Really very beautiful and intense path. In Tossignano the stretch would be closed due to a landslide. It is only a portion immediately at the beginning and of about 20 meters that can be easily overcome for those who do not want to change route. It requires some experience and physicality.
Classic ride on chalk, always very beautiful and not very demanding
