This route was planned by komoot.
Circular route around the sharp mountain Castello di Gaino, halfway up Lake Garda, on the Brescia coast, lasting about 3 and a half hours with almost no breaks. The first part, more technical and more 'nature', follows first at altitude and then in the valley floor of the Valle delle Cartiere. To give a little more 'verve' to the excursion instead of the forest road (partly collapsed) I tackled the impervious 'delle Roccette' path. It is an EE path, largely recently equipped with very appropriate ropes, which allow you to travel the steepest and most slippery sections. You need to be careful along this entire stretch and in particular in some points where the rains have caused the path to collapse. You also need to be very careful in following the white and red signs to not lose the path. The second part, from Navazzo to Gaino, is much quieter and walkable, with views of the lake, its Veronese coast and Mount Baldo. On the way back I recommend taking a short detour to the little church of S. Michele, in Pulciano, to sit on the low wall between the cypress trees and admire the beautiful view.
The initial idea was to reach the Campei de Sima refuge, but finding the road blocked by falling rocks, we opted for this circumnavigation. The initial part is a fairly challenging equipped path not suitable for everyone.
