Hiking

Set off and let the Hopfenpfad (Hop Trail) guide you from the heart of Tettnang up to Siggenweiler – from brewer to farmer, from the first sip to the last hop blossom. You've barely left the pretty town center behind when the gentle ascent begins. With every step, the view widens, and soon the orchards of the hinterland, the deep blue Lake Constance, and the silhouettes of the Alps in the distance lie at your feet.

Along the way, you'll gain exciting insights into the world of hops: How does it grow, how is it harvested, and how does it become what foams in your glass? Perhaps you're someone who likes to hike first and then reward yourself? Here, you can easily do it the other way around. Treat yourself to a cool beer and a hearty snack in the Torstuben with a view of the Torschloss (Gate Castle) and the historic backdrop of the Bärenplatz (Bear Square) before your ascent.

Afterwards, the path awaits you, leading you past lush meadows, tall hop gardens, and small farm shops. There, you can stock up on fresh provisions directly from the farmer. At your destination, the Hopfengut N°20 awaits you – a place that brings the history of hops to life. In this episode of the Bodensee Podcast, you can dive deep into its history: https://bodensee-podcast.podigee.io/30-new-episode.

The return journey passes the Brünnensweiler Chapel – along narrow paths, under fragrant fruit trees, and through quiet woodlands.

Hopfengut N°20

Highlight • Restaurant

The very beautifully housed museum creates a great atmosphere right from the entrance. Wooden beams everywhere. You can tell that work has already been done here. Via a circular route on three floors, you can find everything there is to tell about hops. Information and pictures as witnesses of time, as well as visual exhibition features, are incorporated. In addition, the show brewery is also located in the entrance area and some items are offered for sale.

A visit is a must for all beer enthusiasts.

The chapel, built in 1954, stands on a beautiful vantage point in the town of Tettnang, overlooking villages and towns in the Schussen Valley, Lake Constance and the Alps.

Well ... GPS doesn't do it as soon as I stop. It was actually a kilometer less 🙄

A leisurely walk with a great opportunity to stop off at the Hopfengut. The path is very sunny and you can learn a lot about the cultivation, harvesting, storage and processing of hops.

I am happy to give this round provided by Komoot 5 stars.

I added the castle to the tour, as well as the small grotto in the middle of the forest.
Much of the lap is on asphalt, the rest on gravel paths.
There are plenty of places to rest and display boards to learn a lot about hop …

An easy hike through the hop gardens, with a bit of forest thrown in as well. Unfortunately, the paths are mostly asphalt, with only a nice trail in the middle section. On the hills, you have fantastic panoramic views of the snow-capped Alps, across the hop fields to Lake Constance.

... Hopfenpfad Tettnang "own version" - delicious & musical stop at Hopfengut No. 20 ... with house-made Black Ale and herb risotto with wild broccoli + grilled white & green asparagus 😋... well attended due to a concert by the MV Kehlen with compositions by Ernst Mosch ... 😎

The hop path in Tettnang is a varied hiking trail between the hop fields and orchards of the town. Since the hop and apple harvest is now in full swing, the hike was particularly entertaining. There was also a lot of interesting information to learn about hops during a guided tour and beer tasting at the “Hopfengut No 20”.
But …
