Ebensee to the Riederhütte via the Alberfeldkogel

On this hike, you'll have to conquer quite a few meters of elevation gain, but you'll be rewarded with stunning panoramas, great trails, and rustic mountain huts. The starting point of the tour is the Feuerkogel cable car.

The trail climbs steeply right from the start. Take your time, hike at your own pace, and enjoy the view. You've earned your first break at the Kranabethhütte. The view from the sun terrace is magnificent—time to recharge your batteries. You're halfway there, and you've already covered most of the elevation gain.

The trail continues through the picturesque mountain landscape until you take a detour to the Alberfeldkogel. From the viewing platform, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Traunsee and the surrounding mountains. Sooner than you might like, you'll reach the Riederhütte, which offers you a camp for the night. You can either hike back the next day along the familiar path or find an alternative route.
