The starting point of this circular hike is the Hochberghaus mountain inn, which you reach via the toll road through Farrenau. From there, the trail leads you over Ben Nock to the Sepp Huber Hut. How about a first, scenic break here?

The hike continues to the summit of Spitzplaneck at 1,617 meters. A breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains awaits you – from the Almtal valley and the Totes Gebirge mountains to the Dachstein and the Ennstal Alps. Be sure to allow yourself a few minutes to enjoy it. Afterwards, continue to the Kasbergalm (not open) and the reservoir – here, too, you will be rewarded with fantastic views.

If you've packed a snack: Along the eleven-kilometer route, ten rustic rest areas with carved tree trunks and panoramic pictures invite you to linger. At the end of the hike, a stop at the Hochberghaus is a must. Regional specialties such as the famous Almpfandl await you there. A real treat!
