Get ready for an unforgettable hiking adventure through a diverse landscape full of fragrant nature and exciting history! The Kyffhäuser Trail leads you through Mediterranean karst landscapes, tranquil beech forests, and blooming orchards for approximately 37 kilometers. The tour can be completed in a relaxed three-day period and starts in the half-timbered town of Bad Frankenhausen. Exciting discoveries await you along the way – from mysterious rocks to vibrant nature and cultural highlights.

Let yourself be surprised stage by stage: First, you hike through the impressive gypsum karst landscape to the legendary Barbarossa Cave. Then you'll head deep into the Kyffhäuser Forest with its hidden castle ruins and the imposing Kyffhäuser Monument.

On the last day, you'll reach historic sites surrounded by orchards – here you can snack, marvel, and immerse yourself in times gone by. Whether it's expansive views over the Goldene Aue or a visit to the Panorama Museum – this trail will whet your appetite for nature, culture, and new perspectives!

The Goldene Aue stretches out like a painting, and most importantly: the beautiful views are well-maintained, so you can actually see something. ☝️🤣

Things are idyllic on the gentle mountain ranges of Schlachtberg near Bad Frankenhausen. The beautiful orchards full of apples, pears and plums invite you to snack. The colorful wildflower meadows are a feast for the eyes, especially in spring and summer. A wonderful cultural landscape that is very typical of the Kyffhäuser Nature Park!

Today again committed the Kyffhäuserweg and collected all 10 touring stamps. In the best hiking weather, however, there are hardly any hikers on the route. Except for the points where it smells like fries 🍟 and bratwurst. But that's fine with us. At least we have our peace. The path is definitely a recommendation. With its more than 1000 Hm …

The circular route in the Kyffhäuser Mountains in northern Thuringia is really great and deserves its status 🪙 - mainly paths and paths through forest and fields, little asphalt and totally varied in terms of fauna and landscape 🤩... The weather was suitable with a fresh breeze, a short shower and subsequent sunshine

All the highlights of the small mountains combined on one round. From the "Leaning Tower" in Bad Frankenhausen to the Barbarossa cave, the former television tower on the Kulpenberg, the Kyfhäuser monument, the Kaiserpfalz Tilleda to the elephant toilet, everything is there.

Even though I've walked this beautiful round several times, I haven't managed to do it in spring yet. In addition to the already numerous highlights, such as the crooked church in Bad Frankenhausen, the Barbarossa cave, the Geopark Kyffhäuser, the Kyffhäuser monument, the Tilleda imperial palace, the elephant toilet with variety garden and the slaughter mountain, there is something very …

The Kyffhäuser Mountains in Thuringia are one of Germany's smallest low mountain ranges, yet they are not lacking in natural and cultural beauty. Mediterranean karst landscapes and deserted beech forests, the Royal Palace in Tilleda, and the Kyffhäuser Memorial in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm are just four of the many special features that make the Kyffhäuser Trail a quality trail …

Touringen Tour Kyffhäuser, actually three stages. I did it in one ride. I parked in Tilleda, and the flat rate was 4 euros.

A beautiful and varied route, similar to one I did three years ago – shortly after, it became a Touringen stamp tour😅♟️
So we set off again today, and it was fantastic again 🥰 - the weather was perfect🌞, nature is springing wherever it can🌱🍀🦋🐝🦗🌳🪻, and the area is very beautiful anyway 🤩
