Mountain biking
This tour is a challenge: Over approximately 40 kilometers, you'll gain a considerable amount of elevation gain – some of it on steep switchbacks that will challenge you and your bike. It starts at Zell am Ziller train station. While the climb to the Kreuzwiesenalm starts off leisurely, it quickly gains momentum. Once at the top, you can reward yourself with a restorative break and a magnificent view of the Zillertal.
Then comes the next highlight: the Gerlos Panorama Trail. On narrow paths, sometimes flowing, sometimes technical, you'll ride along the mountain ridges at over 2,000 meters above sea level – with constant views of the surrounding Zillertal and Tux Alps.
The highest point is just above the Isskogelbahn mountain station – where you can take another breather, and the hut is open for dining. The final section then leads downhill to the village bus stop.
