Hiking

The hike through the Raggaschlucht Gorge begins at the parking lot in Flattach, right next to the "Flattach Raggaschlucht" bus stop. From here, you hike to the other side of the Möll River and pass through smelting works. At the entrance to the Raggaschlucht Gorge, you can enjoy a last snack at the kiosk, then continue along the wooden path that leads you into the narrow gorge.

It's cool between the high rock walls, and you'll repeatedly catch a splash from the wild water as it roars its way through the gorge. Breathtaking walkways take you deeper into the gorge. A new, fascinating view awaits you around every bend – the Raggaschlucht Natural Monument is a true natural wonder.

At the end of the gorge, steps lead you up, revealing a magnificent panorama. From here, you can see the surrounding mountains and take another look at the gorge from above. With lasting impressions in your luggage, you finally hike through the quiet forest back to Schmelzhütten and on to the starting point of the tour.

After the glacier, we were hungry and ate at the Ragga Gorge. It was very good, highly recommended, and the prices were reasonable. We were actually pretty exhausted, but we decided to do the Ragga Gorge and do the loop. It was very beautiful but also tiring, and because we had to keep our distance, we sometimes felt a bit …

Where the wild water from the high mountains meets the ancient rock, there's no turning back! At approximately 800 meters long, the Ragga Gorge is one of the shortest gorges in Austria, but due to its exceptional narrowness and depth of up to 200 meters, it is one of the most impressive. The name comes from the Slovenian word rak …

Wow, not for the faint-hearted. Luna 🐕 was very scared to get through it. The volume of the rushing water. 🫣
The time was 1.5 hours.
Komoot regularly lost the signal. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Today we set off towards Mölltal to the Raggaschlucht. The area around the Großglockner is very impressive.😎 The little tour through the Raggaschlucht was very easy and not time-consuming but all the more spectacular. Tomorrow we're going on to Bella Italia 😁

Today we drove from Sillian to Bad Kleinkirchheim, our last stop for this holiday.
On the way we passed the Raggaschlucht and our new hotel had already emailed us our Kärntencard, which gave us free entry. We were happy to take advantage of that.
It is a very impressive gorge, very narrow and steep and at the moment with a …

Starting point: 🅿️ Schmelzhütten

After about a 10-minute walk through the village of Schmelzhütten, we reach the ticket office.
It's simply impressive; our path leads us over spectacularly constructed wooden walkways. We pass vertical, partly overhanging rock faces, and the roar of the water fills the air.
Over millennia of work, the Raggabach stream created one of the most beautiful …

The Ragga Gorge is approximately 800 meters long and surrounded by steep, vertical rock faces. The water rushes past at breathtaking speed. The walkways are steep in places but easily accessible. The return journey is via a forest path. 👍
