Too bad the sun wasn't shining today. It was still a nice tour :)
Unspectacular relaxed tour in a beautiful landscape with the best late summer-early autumn weather. From Hall via Geislingen (Kocher), Vellberg, Sulzdorf back to Hall (destination: Unterwöhrd beer garden.) First at the Kocher, then along the Bühler. Pleasant to ride, only 2 longer climbs. Side streets with no traffic, some gravel, mostly bike paths.
Today we started in Schwäbisch Hall at 16 degrees and thick clouds along the Kocher. Via Gelbingen Untertürkheim and Enslingen to Geislingen then along the Bühler to Thalheim and Vellberg. The weather was no problem for our rain gear due to occasional light drizzle, but things were very different from Vellberg onwards. Persistent rain (we drove anyway😬) accompanied us all the way to Schwäbisch Hall, and even the best rain gear didn't help. Still a nice tour. We should have more luck with the weather tomorrow😆
Today we had a test drive after the repair was completed - test passed! The tour starts in Geislingen, parking lot at the Bridge Museum. From there always follow the well-developed cycle path to Vellberg. Vellberg impresses with its medieval charm with the well-preserved city wall and half-timbered houses. From Vellberg you go back to Sulzdorf on a well-developed cycle path. However, the signage there can be improved. That's why I made a little detour... Then we went to Schwäbisch Hall and from there on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path back to the starting point.
The town of Schwäbisch Hall is a real eye-catcher. The panorama from the banks of the Kocher River is stunning. I clicked the shutter button on my camera every few meters. But with the great weather, we wanted to continue our bike ride along the Kocher (the or the Kocher?) and its right tributary near Geislingen, the Bühler, up to Oberscheffach, and then back to our campsite. The river bike paths in Franconia are simply top-notch. And the return journey took us up through the forest, so there was plenty of shade.
Wonderful route with a lot of flat paths and also nice gradients. A varied landscape around the beautiful Schwäbisch Hall that is well worth seeing!
So, got the Gazelle out of the stable and went for a nice ride. At the beginning increase and a lot of commercial area but then beautiful plateau, forests fine descent into the valley and along the river.
