Road cycling

From the tourist coast to the typical mountain villages of Tenerife, or from the sea to the mountains, this route has it all. Costa Adeje is one of the towns with the best tourist infrastructure on the entire island, yet it is ideally located close to the forested crown and other towns that maintain a local spirit.

The route begins in one of the public parking lots along the coast and immediately begins the climb toward the winding roads that lead you to Teide National Park. The ascent continues through the arid but enchanting landscape of the south of the island until it winds through the majestic Canary Island pine forests.

Although you pass through countless small towns ideal for a break, it is recommended that you bring some snacks and, above all, enough hydration. The climate in the south is drier and the sun is strong. Therefore, sunscreen is essential.

The highest point is in Vilaflor de Chasna, from where you begin a fun descent filled with views of the sea and the volcanic landscape. Back in Costa Adeje, you have the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a good meal or a refreshing swim.

Between Granadilla and San Miquel is the Orchilla ravine. Despite not being able to access it, its depth can be appreciated very well from this point.

Wonderful switchbacks that are fun both up and down. The scent of pine trees, the good asphalt—highly recommended in every respect.

Beautiful ride on the sometimes busy coastal road. After Los Christianos a number of steep parts, around 15 percent. After Arona again gradually through beautiful nature. IN Vilaflor is a square with a terrace where you can eat and drink something. Take a jacket for the descent.

Very hot again on the ascent but cold and cloudy in Vilaflor..
The weather changes really quickly depending on location and altitude. ...and hot again at the sea/pool 😊

Today we went to the highest village in Tenerife, about 1500 meters above sea level.

Wonderful pass road from Granadilla, 13 km long.

It was really cold at the top. I didn't bring any clothes for anything higher up...

Tour 2 in Tenerife

Because of my birthday I got to cycling late and so I rode straight into the night. With a view of Roque del Conde and Roque Imoque we went up to Villaflor. I got up the mountain much better than I did a few days ago on my first trip to the island. That was incredibly …
