Hiking
On this hike, you'll experience firsthand that a hike from hut to hut and from alpine pasture to alpine pasture has much more to offer than just the breathtaking views you'd expect. The views are certainly there – the panorama from Hirnkopf alone is truly breathtaking.
But there are also meadows and forests, and glimpses into the unique habitats between Kuster and Hirnkopf. A great opportunity to pause and reflect on all these wonderful impressions is offered by a visit to the restaurant on Hirnkopf at an altitude of 1,840 meters.

The hike to the Brain Head should actually be relatively easy, but we also took a wrong path that led us to steep sections :D. But the hike was beautiful and also took us surrounded by trees all the way to the top. There is a large field at the top from where we then hiked our way down to the Flatniztersee. This section was fairly easy, the first part of the descent took us across open terrain. Then we went back into the forest and all the way down to Lake Flatnizer. It was really nice and quiet there.
We head to the eastern foothills of the Nockberge, where there is a gentle mountain giant with an interesting name: the Hirnkopf (1,840 m). I was out and about again with mountain guide Johannes Moser 🥾 from the Central Carinthia tourism region. We climbed higher and higher through shady coniferous forest until we reached the Haidner Höhe. We hiked the last forty meters to the Hirnkopf comfortably and with great views. One of the striking mountains that accompanied us was the Wintertaler Nock. After the obligatory summit selfie, we continued the circular route and hiked down to the 🥗Alpengasthof Isopp with a clear view. From the hut it was not far back to the starting point
