Along this tour, you'll find swimming lakes, a great mix of nature and cultural history, and repeatedly beautiful views of the Dreisessel massif. The tour's name comes not from ropes, but from flax, which was grown in the Mühlviertel region and woven into linen.

A beautiful bike path. Very good to ride with the e-bike, nice rest stops. IMPERATIVELY drive in Breitenberg at the large intersection in the direction of Gegenbach (not in the direction of Klafferstraß). We had to take this detour because of the closure.
The challenging cycle path leads through an interesting cultural landscape of the Wegscheider Land, where flax cultivation, processing and weaving played a major role. The cycle path runs mainly on tarred ground, mostly on secondary routes with little traffic. Not quite undemanding due to the altitude difference. Strictly speaking, entry into the tour is possible anywhere. All in all quite well signposted, sometimes the foil is already coming off the signs, so you have to stop to see the direction arrows. Parallel to the Danube-Forest Cycle Path, the route leads on Gegenbachstraße (weaving museum), Hirschenbergweg to the junction to Jandelsbrunn. Straight ahead it goes uphill very quickly to the place Sonnen. Over the plateau at Stübelhäuser it is then more relaxing to continue to the idyllic “Sag Chapel”. You will soon reach Markt Wegscheid via the road to Kasberg, which climbs rapidly again. Then it goes down to the Grenzbach and on via Meßnerschlag to Kohlstatt (good refreshment stops). From here the linen bike runs for 7 kilometers on Austrian territory, at the border crossing "Hartl-Mühle" you come back to Bavarian soil.
