Rundweg Simplon Bergalpe

The Simplon Bergalpe circular trail leads you through a unique pass landscape with rounded hills, small marshes, raised bogs, alpine pastures, and walled private estates. The trail follows former, sometimes very old, paths and connects the various alpine settlements. The extensive summer pasture is divided into quarters and consists of ten alpine villages. Individual cow rights are distributed among these stables, so that each alpine village operates independently. The traditional alpine operation on the Simplon Bergalpe was individual grazing.

A landmark of the tour is Lake Rotel, a beautiful mountain lake that invites you to swim. Another highlight is the view of Lake Hopschel, from which it's just a few steps to the beautiful mountain lake with its magnificent panorama. The hiking trail leads all the way around, and its picturesque shores are ideal for a relaxing break.

The tour ends at the starting point, the Simplon Hospice. Public transport is available to the starting point.
