Experience the fascinating history of Bad Bertrich on this circular hiking trail - an adventure through the times of knights, robbers and Romans!
During the time of the knights, two brothers built the former Entersburg, which today is only evidenced by its spectacular location. In the 18th century, robbers launched their raids from the dense forests and valleys around the Üssbach. The Romans finally formed the place, which is now known as a health resort and bathing resort with the only Glauber's salt spa in Germany.
This circular hiking trail takes you along narrow paths and wide paths to fascinating places. A steep climb rewards you with the majestic view from the Steffenswarte on the Entersburg, built in the 19th century. Over almost 15 kilometers you will delve deep into the knight-robber-Roman stories of Bad Bertrich and experience them up close!
✨ Highlights of the tour:
⇨ 1.4 km Elven Grotto
⇨ 2.2 km Florianshütte

The Knight-Robber-Römer adventure trail started at the RV parking space in Bad Bertrich. It first leads out of the small health resort and up to Entersburg, of which only the spectacular location remains today. It was once built by a pair of brothers during the knighthood. The Steffenswarte was …

The title "Knights-Robbers-Romans" promises a lot of history, but ultimately, it's a beautiful Üßbach tour.
The reference to "knights" refers to the (unfortunately no longer accessible) Steffenswarte tower; this location on a small hill was the site of the Entersburg or Nantersburg, which was built and destroyed in the 11th century.
