The hike actually starts in Deudesfeld. We deliberately chose the Bleckhausener Mühle as a start. This has the advantage that the - in my opinion - nicer part of the tour is hiked in the 2nd half with great views over the landscape. So we first hiked from the Bleckhausen mill (from the 18th century) through the pristine Speicherbach valley to Deudesfeld. From here a tarred path leads in the direction of the lava pit, which gave the hiking trail its name. At the end of the pit, continue over the Jungeland and the Maarsattel up to the highest point of the crater elevation. There you can admire an impressive panorama on the 12 meter high wooden observation tower "Landesblick". In front of you in the depths the Meerfelder Maar and behind it the Mosenberg as well as a wonderful all-round view of the region around Manderscheid. Then the path leads down into the valley of the Kleine Kyll and there along the idyllic stream back to the starting point at the Bleckhausener Mühle.
Hiking through the Vulkaneifel with an attractive landscape. A hike to enjoy and you can think about how the region got its name. The up and down in altitude is low and not strenuous to walk. From the car park at the beginning of the village with a fountain to cool off, you can follow the well-marked hiking trail directly out of the village. Passing fields and meadows, the path climbs slightly and the lava pit is passed. So it goes on to the observation tower Landesblick. Today there is a great all-round view. The Meerfelder Maar lies picturesquely nestled below the tower and is within reach. The fields are quickly hiked through, blackberries nibbled and freshly strengthened I step into the cool forest. The path leads down into the valley of the small Kyll and in the creek there is even water that flows gently rippling. It goes past the Bleckhausen mill. Sunny and shady sections alternate. Back in Deudesfeld, I treat myself to a footbath in the fountain. Unfortunately the restaurant is still closed.
Very nice hiking trail. The higher you got, the more snow there was. Great views. Very nice tour.
Beautiful hike with great views over the Eifel.
A beautiful, relaxed tour through the forest and over the observation tower, not for nothing called "Landesblick", with a 360-degree panoramic view over the Eifel and into the Hunsrück. The wind was blowing quite hard, so we had to get our jackets out. A little further down, however, it was warm enough for short sleeves again.
The HeimatSpur Lavaweg in @GesundLand Vulkaneifel starts in Deudesfeld. There is a RV parking space on Manderscheider Strasse, where you can also find space for your car. From here, the Meerfelder path goes gently uphill on a tarred path, past bright yellow broom bushes (Eifelgold) and a large lava pit. On the way to the Landesblick viewing platform, the distant view and the interesting terrain formation of hills and hollows are already impressive. From the 12-meter-high Landesblick observation tower, the view of the Meerfelder Maar below, the Mosenberg, Manderscheid and the Eifel heights is simply stunning! The further path now leads down into the valley of the little Kyll. The path continues along beautiful shady to semi-shady forest paths through the valley of the little Kyll to the Bleckhausen mill. Unfortunately, this is no longer managed, but will soon become a residential group for children and youth welfare. The trail continues through the Speicherbach valley on beautiful forest paths back towards Deudesfeld. The climb is hardly noticeable. A very beautiful, easy-to-walk HeimatSpur that offers plenty of peace and nature. https://www.gesundland-vulkaneifel.de/heimatspur-lavaweg-deudesfeld/

A very beautiful hike that seems very interesting at first, but for the last two-thirds, there's not much to see – apart from nature and a small river. Today's itinerary included a hike of around 10 kilometers – and it started off really promisingly. The climb to the Landesblick observation tower was challenging, but worthwhile. Once at the top, I was rewarded with an impressive view of the Meerfelder Maar. What was particularly exciting was how clearly you could see the crater, which nestles into the landscape like a giant natural amphitheater. You can clearly see how you can fly into the crater on one side – and out again on the other. A fascinating geological experience! One small highlight, however, was missing: The paragliders, which normally circle above the maar like colorful birds, unfortunately stayed on the ground today – it was simply too windy. Nevertheless, wonderful weather accompanied me on my way, which made the tour very pleasant overall. I have to say, though: After the Landesblick, the excitement subsided somewhat. The last two-thirds of the route led mostly through forests, fields, and along a small river – beautiful and tranquil, but not particularly varied. Certainly a delight for nature lovers, but a bit monotonous for those hoping for highlights or panoramic views. All in all, it was still a successful tour with a great start and wonderful weather – perfect for an extended spring hike.
