This route was planned by komoot.
Simply wow 🤩 This landscape is spectacular and unique – very barren, with rocks as far as the eye can see. A stormy hike💨, and the climb over the rocks was a bit alpine. However, to avoid getting lost among all the rocks, the trail is marked with small posts at regular intervals. The circuit led us through low forests in places. Blueberries, birch, pine, and heather, which isn't in bloom yet. We repeatedly crossed areas where we walked across pastures, through kissing gates, and small woods. A wonderful archipelago, also known as the Kingdom of Stones. Memories of the children's book "Holidays on Saltrokan" were awakened 😅 Strenuous, but definitely worth every effort. 👌🏻
One of the most beautiful archipelago hikes, and quite rightly rated highly on Komoot. A varied route, practically over hill and dale, rocky plateaus, across meadows, through forests, and on single trails always along the coast. And a beautiful view around every corner!
Wow, how beautiful is it here? The Ramsvikslandet Nature Reserve is simply a dream, especially if you love rocks and stones and want to enjoy the view of the sea. There are various hiking trails through the island, there are a few parking lots where hiking maps are also posted. We parked at the Haby parking lot and walked around the island from there. This is the blue-marked route. The tour goes spectacularly along the west coast, over rocks and stones. It's better to stick to the markings, otherwise you might end up in a dead end! In the north, the tour turns and leads back to the parking lot via gentle hiking trails. The last kilometer is a bit stupid because you walk on the road (which fortunately is not very busy). The tour is not very difficult to walk but it is strenuous. The scrambling over the rocks should not be underestimated, surefootedness is an advantage and I recommend wearing good shoes. Then the tour is no problem! You should definitely plan enough time! Not because the tour is so difficult, but because the landscape is so impressive. I had to stop constantly, look and marvel. You should take a snack and, above all, water with you, as there are no refreshment stops along the way.
Hiking in Sweden 🇸🇪 Beautiful circular hike in Ramsvikslandet nature reserve 🌊 A large part of the hike leads over rocks and paths directly along the coast 🇸🇪🧡 We almost always had the sea in view 🤩 Only a short section of the hike finally led us through the forest back to the parking lot🌳 For more hiking tips, please visit www.outdoor-glueck.de 🧡
For the most part, Ramsvikslandet consists of extensive rock areas alternating with heather heaths and wet heaths and smaller wetlands. In protected valleys are found also claimed meadows framed by dense thickets of leaves. IN the eastern part contains some smaller farms with old farmland and here there are remnants of deciduous forests where the oak dominates. The bedrock consists of red bohus granite with interspersed passages of diabase, rhombic porphyry and pegmatite and the area has quite rightly been named "Kingdom of the Rocks". The maritime climate, as well as cattle grazing, haymaking, small-scale agriculture and the abundant shell soils, are important prerequisites for a rich flora. In the middle of the depression in the 1930s, the six kilometer long Soten Canal was blown up and dug as a preparedness work so that coastal shipping would not have to enter the infamous waters of the Soten with its dangerous shoals and skerries off Ramsvikslandet. The channel separates the westernmost Ramsvikslandet from the mainland on Sotenäset. Nowadays, it is a valued and often frequented inland route for recreational boats. A swing bridge connects the peninsula with the mainland. https://vastkuststiftelsen.se/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ramsvikslandet.pdf
Exciting circular hike with lots of climbing (if you want), viewpoints and the sound of the sea. There are several quiet swimming areas on the east side of the island. Exceptionally beautiful NR with several color-coded trails. Also several parking spaces. Information boards/flyers on site. The recorded route (circular route) mainly follows the blue markings, sometimes in combination with the white ones. On the west coast there are many potholes to see, at Sote Bonde small climbing passages with safety ropes, alternatively follow the blue outer loop. Possibility to stop at Ramsvik Stuga (CP). Cows live on the island, they move around...
