Hiking
Mighty basalt boulders, dramatic lava slopes and bubbling mineral springs characterize the almost 14-kilometer circular hike around Üdersdorf and the wild and romantic Liesertal - pure water and rocks!
Shortly after the start, you come within touching distance of the dramatic lava slopes below the Emmelberg. Mineral collectors have already discovered one or two gems for themselves in this lunar landscape.
The walk leisurely goes along the rippling water in the Lieser valley.
Then it goes through the Löhley, where the fiery past is particularly obvious. Massive basalt boulders decorate the path on both sides. What used to be deadly volcanic projectiles are now moss-covered jewels in this fairytale forest.
From here, the path winds up to the highlight of your hike: the Aarley. From the volcanic ridge you can see the landscape of the Volcanic Eifel with an old lava pit.
Then you return to the starting point in Üdersdorf.
