Interesting circular hike, wonderful views. Confusing signposted from Falkenlay down to Bad Bertrich.
The ascent is crisp. Goes almost 45min only uphill over roots, stones/rocks. Good shoes and walking sticks are therefore advisable. The rest of the round is a pleasure. Enough seats with a view. Since the round was quite short, we did the knight round. Parking in Bad Bertrich opposite the tourist information. Costs 1 Eur per hour. Free parking only 2 hours. Whatever komoot recorded. We came out at the same place and height as we started....
A wonderful circular route, surprisingly the view of the Moselle and a great idea at the mash spring with chilled drinks
I parked in the multi-storey car park opposite the Tourist Information. The hike starts behind it. Now a journey through time into the geological past of Bad Bertrich begins. The tour is marked with G. At the beginning of the tour it goes up tight in serpentines and the first lookout is the Palmberg. On the way there are always great distant views to enjoy. The Viktoriahöhe follows and then on to the Ruflay. Here you sit really well with a great view. This is followed by the oasis of calm and here you can also sit on benches and let the enormous view work its magic on you. It's really great here and until now you've almost always had a canopy of leaves over you. Now all the meters of altitude have been covered and we continue on the level through mown fields and meadows. Entry into the cool forest soon follows. You always have a roof over yourself here and that is very pleasant. The head compartment soon follows. After leaving the forest, it continues through meadows and first up to the hill in front of me to Falkenay. Here, too, the view is magnificent. Back there is a change of direction into the forest and the serpentine descent towards the Stone Age caves begins. What I'm really looking forward to today. There are really mighty walls looming up next to me and inside there are caves of different sizes. That's very impressive. The path past the caves is very smooth and slippery as the ground is very dry and it is downhill. Unfortunately, there is hardly any holding possibility in the form of ropes or poles. It's available occasionally, but I don't think it's sufficient. This makes it very difficult to walk past and look, and I also found myself slipping despite good shoes and sticks. So caution is advised here. Arrived at the Maischquelle there is a rest. It's also too beautiful here. There are cool drinks from the natural fridge and the water from the spring is really cool. For a fee you can refresh yourself internally. There is enough seating. Everything is very pleasant. The rest of the route is just as beautiful. Always in the forest with a canopy of leaves. The route is serpentine and now it slowly goes down again. It's fun to walk here and even now there are always great views. I end where I started. Behind the information center. It's an entertaining route and fascinating. A great route and the information boards clarify. I enjoy this hike. Today I also walked through the village and enjoyed the Elfengrotte walking path. Then there is a cup of healing water at the end.

A wonderful way 👍. It is only 7 km, but they are crisp. Don't underestimate the time it takes to get there. The views, rest areas and what there is to see are too beautiful (basalt wall, etc.)
