Falkauns Alm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

A wonderful alpine hut with its own dairy, breathtaking views, and delicious Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). A wonderful place to stop on a long hike!

Gallruthalm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

A rustic alpine hut... you're practically sitting in the kitchen (inside). The food was excellent. After a sudden downpour, we were able to dry off by the kitchen stove.

Gallruth Tunnel Entrance

Highlight • Cave

Don't forget a flashlight and definitely good shoes. It can be wet in the tunnel. The almost one kilometer long tunnel is easy to walk on. A real adventure.

We hiked up from the Kaunertal to the Gallrutalm in beautiful late summer weather and then did the tunnel loop. After a refreshment stop, we hiked back down. The tour was a dream and is highly recommended. Thanks to for the great tip.
