A tour through the national park 🇵🇱 ● no rain ☁️ ● no sun either ☁️ ● lots of blueberries 🫐 ● beautiful lakes 🏞 ● old trees 🌳 ● very beautiful forest 🌳🌳🌳 ... and then a detour to the stork rehabilitation center.
Our tour today started in Krutyń and led us through the Królewska Sosna nature reserve. Quite early on, we passed a wonderfully intensely fragrant purple lilac hedge 🪻😊😁. Initially, we walked a stretch along the Krutynia river and later past several smaller lakes and the large Jezioro Mokre (Mokre Lake), where you can see rare floating islands. Floating islands are coherent mats of peat, moss, reeds, and small trees (like dwarf pines) that are not rooted to the lakebed. They form when shore areas or parts of adjacent raised bogs detach from the mainland due to wind, waves, or frost and drift freely on the water. The shore areas of the lakes are consequently marshy-wet, but the sandy, soft, springy forest paths are very pleasant to walk on. In summer, there will be plenty of blueberries there, the forest floor is covered with them. The village of Krutyń is the tourist heart of the region and known for its historic wooden houses, numerous kayak rentals, and traditional trips with wooden pole boats. Unfortunately, none were available to book today. Even in the cool May, you can already guess what's going on here in the summer... 🚣🛶🚣🏻🛶🚣🏻🛶🧑🤝🧑🧑🤝🧑🧑🤝🧑🧑🤝🧑☕🍰🍕🍔🍟🍻🍹😳. Insight of the day: To experience the original beauty of this landscape, May is probably the perfect time of year 😊. 👩🏻👦🏼
