Through olive groves and chestnut forests around Mount Ben (706 m) and via Drena (Ferrata Sallagoni!) without a via ferrata, through expansive vineyards parallel to the Sarca River back to Arco. Discovered a delicious panini shop in Drena – they serve top-notch homemade cheese and ham products on bread! Super delicious! 😋
Right at the start of the tour, Lisa crashed into my bike and her front wheel got wedged into my rear wheel, almost tearing off the gear cable and leaving it hanging by a few strands. This meant I could no longer shift into 1st or 2nd gear, and as a result 3rd, 4th and finally 5th no longer worked. The climb was quite arduous. After the climb, my shirt was so wet it looked like I'd gone swimming in it. Somehow we made it to the top. There was also an opportunity to fill up with water there. The tour is mostly on asphalt, the last section is very nice. Back to Arco where you ride on a flat single trail.
The first real "summer day" at 25 degrees ☀️👍, which makes it 🚴🚴 much more fun 😃. We headed off up the mountain ⛰️. A very beautiful but also very challenging tour...🥵💪🏼
