This circular hike takes you through the impressive landscape of the Solling region and offers breathtaking views over the Weser River. Steep cliffs, historic sites, and fantastic panoramas await you.

The tour starts in Bad Karlshafen. Here, the Weser River welcomes you in all its beauty. From the tranquil spa town, the route ascends high above the mountains. A few meters of elevation are to be conquered on the clifftop trail. At the top of the Hanover Cliffs, the Weser Skywalk awaits you – a platform that offers an unparalleled view of the Weser Valley at a height of 80 meters. You continue through sparse forests and reach the deserted Schmeessen settlement – the remains of an 8th-century settlement. Passing the burial mounds of the historic site, you finally reach the Sohnrey Heights, which offers fantastic panoramic views.

Back in Bad Karlshafen, cozy places to stop for refreshments await you. Sturdy footwear is recommended. You should also bring plenty of water – especially for the climb.
