The loop around Lake Ossiach starts in Annenheim. From there, you'll head towards Landskron on the south shore of Lake Ossiach. With stunning views of the lake, you'll cycle through the villages of Heiligen Gestade, Ostriach, Ossiach, and Alt-Ossiach. Crossing the Bleistätter Moor, you'll then reach the north shore of the lake, passing through the villages of Steindorf, Bodensdorf, Sattendorf, and back to the starting point in Annenheim.
On this route, which follows almost exclusively lakeside cycle paths, you'll pass many of the region's attractions. These include the beautiful Ossiach Abbey, the stunning Steinhaus in Steindorf, the summer toboggan run in Ossiach, and the Kanzelbahn valley station in Annenheim.

After yesterday's 🚍 journey from Lake Chiemsee, including through the Tauern Tunnel, arriving here near Villach late afternoon, 🌤️ it was time for some exercise again today ⛰️😁 A wonderful tour 🤩 with a detour to Ossiach Abbey ⛪️ and a waterfall with heart ❤️
The south bank has a nice bike path, on the north bank this consists mainly of a series of paths and streets with mostly bad asphalt
Short 🚲 stopover 🚲 at Lake Ossiach 🏞 with 🌞 a sun halo 🌞🌈 (see picture 6) and a pleasant 15° degrees to satisfy the longing for the mountains ⛰️🥰 at least a little 😃😊. The off-season started here too. Passenger boat traffic ⛴️ was stopped on October 27th and all restaurants around the lake 🏞 were closed. Luckily 🍀 that we were able to provide for ourselves ☕️🍫🍌🍎🍪 again in the slowly setting 🌞🌄. It was beautiful 😊😃👍
Too many people, too much traffic on the street next to it.
To start your cycling holiday, a very nice tour around Lake Ossiach in the morning on very easy paths, mostly asphalt or very fine gravel, so suitable for every type of bike👍🌞😎 . On the north bank, the cycle path runs parallel to the railway line, then branches off to the right at the rear end of the lake and runs on fine gravel through the Ossiacher Moor before it leads on the south bank parallel to the main road towards Villach through Ossiach around the west bank to Sattendorf. It's not a special highlight either in terms of landscape or path, but you always have a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains, as well as one or the other curiosity along the way - it was worth it...😇😉👍🌞😎😄
At the end and in 🥶 and inconsistent weather🌦️ we did the Osiacher See Rundweg🚴♀️. It is exactly the other way around than on Lake Millstatt, the north bank is the nicer one to drive (the road is a little off the beaten track, not visible) On the south bank, take the cycle path next to the autostraße🚙🚘. Otherwise nothing spectacular to see, that is to say, I personally liked the Millstätter See Rundweg much better.
