Autumn has its own charm. A beautiful hike that lives up to its name
This challenging but eventful circular hike leads over the rolling hills and through open valleys around Lindenfels. The path also leads through the forest in some sections. Two climbs need to be overcome. Rare rock formations and the geological trail offer entertainment along the way. The Bismarckwarte and the Ludwigshöhe offer wonderful views for a lasting experience of this tour. bergstrasse-odenwald.de/detail/id=5f1540d50e3c1c0fedd15851
Now and now, around the castle and dragon town of Lindenfels. 🐲 The dragon slayer Siegfried is said to have died here in the Odenwald. Great tour with castle ruins, Odenwald half-timbered houses, gravestones, rocks, through forests and across meadows. The myth of the dragon...good...evil...fantasy. Simple gravestones in the churchyard, a special feature in the Odenwald village of Schlierbach. Never seen them before...somehow special! Instead of dark gravestones, simple white-painted wooden boards, the only decoration of which is a painted flowerpot. Under the "Here rests in peace" only the name, place of origin and year of death are written. Dragon Museum, Dragon Garden and pictures in the Citizens' Tower finally took me into the world of dragons. Isn't there a little dragon in everyone?🐉 Children love dragons. 🪁🦖 The Chinese New Year has been under the sign of the dragon since February 10, 2024. It stands for power, strength, energy and promises luck and prosperity.
Since it was raining in the Palatinate today, I fled to the Odenwald. Lindenfels has been on the list for a long time, and the sun even came out for a short time.
Beautiful tour from Lindenfels, if you finish at the Römischer Kaiser in Schlierbach, highly recommended, you should start there. A cooked cheese schnitzel at lunchtime and blueberry wine is not ideal for the subsequent climb to Lindenfels but there are also small snacks and the coffee shop around the corner is also very good.
We found many dragons around Lindenfels today. But all somehow quite harmless. It was relatively steep uphill and downhill again and again, so that we really deserved a delicious ice cream in Lindenfels. We also visited the dragon museum with its large number of partly kitschy representations. Oh yes - then there was Siegfried...
Today, four of us went on a wonderful tour. The weather was rather cool, but everything was nice in change, forest and meadows, uphill, downhill, shade and sun, but one thing was constant and more and more, the thimbles along the way. Always great views of the Weschnitztal, the castle in Lindenfels from all perspectives and the Gersprenztal.
