VitalWanderWelt: 'Trust' – around the Dichterviertel in Bad Oeynhausen

Start and finish: Bad Oeyhausen Heart and Diabetes Center I have often come across the VitalWanderWelt markings and signs. This is a network of hiking trails in spa towns that, in addition to walking, also pursue another health aspect in the form of exercises and lessons. Today I tried the “Trust” route. This route is aimed specifically at hospital patients, as it is very short at less than 3 km and deals with the subject of the heart - although that is a slight exaggeration: embarrassingly, there is only one display board and it teaches me how to monitor my blood pressure fair... Purely thematically, this path has completely failed. But as a tourist walking route, this path really looks great! Right at the beginning, the VitalWanderWeg leads to the Bad Oeynhausen Museum Farm, which is made up of various regional farms. The court festival there comes as a complete surprise to me. Officially there is an entrance fee, but since I didn't visit the buildings, I just sneaked into the grounds and bought some groats. 🙂 Aside from events, the outdoor area is always freely accessible anyway. From here the route leads through the Siekertal, on to the Bali thermal baths and the Jordansprudel. The landmark of Bad Oeynhausen was artificially drilled in 1926 and is (according to information boards) the largest thermal brine spring in the world. The water originates at a depth of 725 m and would shoot up to 52 m if left unchecked. This is now prevented and instead the 36° warm water is used for the Bali thermal baths. Due to construction work, I have to take a small detour until the V logo takes me through the beautiful Hambkebachtal. This is only a very narrow strip of forest, but you quickly forget that you are actually in the middle of Bad Oeynhausen. In terms of the path profile, this VitalWanderWelt walk really does everything right! In any case, it's a nice afternoon walk that is well marked. The tour will soon be available in the OSM and therefore also on Komoot, where it was previously missing.
