Today we finally managed to ride the Obstland bike route. I liked the second part better. From Mügeln we had the rain and thunderstorms behind us. Didn't make it to the car dry anymore 🙈. Nonetheless, it was a nice tour.
A beautiful tour through the Saxon fruit country with great signage. However, I advise against following the fruit cycle route between Polditz and Böhlen (terrible gravel path with lots of stones) and instead stay on the designated cycle path along the road.
Nice tour on quiet back roads and dreamy villages.
Today we went on the Obstland bike tour together. Börtewitz was chosen as our starting point. Parking at the culture barn. Varied bike tour, where you don't expect the constant up and down. Often you drive on roads, but with little traffic. Unfortunately, the orchards are always closed. (It's not like that in Vinschgau ... lie in an orchard and take a break). The most beautiful section for us was through Kemmlitzbachtal past Kemmlitzsee and Silbersee. ... A nice round. The signage sometimes had to be searched for with the bicycle navigation system, but it wasn't a problem. ... IT WAS NICE 🤗 🤗 🤗 LINK: https://www.leipzig.travel/tour/obstland-route
https://youtu.be/GfN9ne6iqzs Since it didn't work out yesterday to take the train to Leißnig for May Day, I tried again today. Without my wife, who preferred to work today on the bridge. Maybe it was better. Since our e-bikes are in for inspection, I had to use the mountain bike. The route is challenging. The climbs in the second half, in particular, are quite challenging. But otherwise, it was a nice tour. I didn't complete the loop; after Buch Monastery, I cycled to Döbeln. It was a bit further (about 10 km more), but I was able to board an empty train with my bike. It didn't get really crowded until Grimma, though.
