Start near Lake Cospuden. Coordinates 51.26812, 12.34829 The Neuuseenland near Leipzig used to be a coal mining area and now 19 new lakes and a beautiful leisure park have been created here.

Today we're off to Leipzig's New Lake District again. 🚴‍♀️ Starting at sunrise. 🌞

On Whit Tuesday, the beautiful weather was used to explore the Leipzig Neuseenland together with Roller24. We started in Regis-Breitingen and followed the very well signposted circular route in a clockwise direction. The Haselbacher See was reached quickly and the beautiful nature here gave an idea of what was to await us on the further kilometers. We continued to Lucka and thus to the Altenburger Land. The fact that we were allowed to drive a bit through Thuringia was a special highlight for 50% of the tour participants! Next we made a small stopover at the ruins of the Wiprecht von Groitzsch castle. It is one of the oldest known stone buildings in Saxony. The section to Zwenkauer See ran mainly on side roads through smaller towns. Unfortunately, you could not see any lakes here. In Zwenkau, a short stop was made at the marina because the magnesium reserves had to be replenished. Then followed the Cospudener and the Markleeberger See. Here the second break was taken and a very tasty fish sandwich was eaten. The Störmthaler, the Hainer and the Haubitzer See followed before our round at the Borna reservoir slowly came to an end! We can fully recommend this tour! Signage and road surface are good to very good, the route is varied and can be easily mastered even without an "E". Don't forget swimming trunks and sunscreen!!! Many thanks to Roller24 for the beautiful day of cycling and the pleasant company!

Is it possible to have a headwind on a 100 km round tour on 80 km? Seems like this to me today...

It's actually a loop around the Lippendorf power plant... this circular tour around the new lakes near Leipzig. But the weather was perfect, and the activity was limited, since it was during the week. Very nice tour!

The Great Lakes Circuit, as recommended in the tourist booklet, is beautiful, but for me it didn't need to go much further. Mostly first class paths. Signage Poor, only navigable with navigation system and common sense🚴👍

Translated by Google

Used the day off to tackle the tour planned for last year. Very scenic but also super developed bike paths. 😉👍

Translated by Google

The sun is blazing, so get on your bike and cycle around the lakes. The paths around and through Borna could still be improved a bit, but otherwise it's a lovely tour to explore Leipzig's lake landscape.
