Szwajcarka Mountain Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The oldest building in Poland used as a shelter - wooden, in Tyrolean style, built in 1823. Beautiful shelter at an altitude of 520m above sea level, and a great place to stop. They serve food here and you can stay overnight.

Hussite Rock (Kutschenstein)

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Hussite Rock (545 m above sea level) - is an impressive granite rock with 20 m high cliffs. Although we are on a 20 m high rocky outcrop, trees obscure the view of the Jelenia Góra valley, but Sokolik Duży presents itself in all its glory.
The name "Hussite Rock" is connected with the events that took place in the nearby Sokolec Góra castle on the night of 11-12 August 1434. The Hussites, fleeing from the burning fortress, got lost here and fell on horseback straight into the abyss.

Great Sokolik (Forstberg)

Highlight • Summit

The Sokolik (German Forstberg) is the second highest peak in the Falkenberg Mountains (Sokole Góry) in the area of the Landeshuter Kamm (Rudawy Janowickie) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Together with the neighboring Kreuzberg (Krzyżna Góra), the Forstberg forms a striking double formation, which is a landmark of the Hirschberg Valley.

February 14, 2024, Kryzna Gora/Kreuzberg – Szwajcarka Runde von Strużnica

Luckily we decided against the Schneekoppe, it was in the middle of the clouds as you can see in the photos from Kreuzberg. There are plenty of rest areas with seating everywhere, but the railing structures are a bit wobbly. The climb to the Kreuzberg is not recommended for smaller children, they would definitely have to be carried in a stretcher on their back, the 7 year old managed it with dad's help.
