Today I cycled to the Rursee before the Eifel is closed tomorrow due to 3Rides. I cycled around the Rursee in wonderful cycling weather, but there were some surprisingly steep climbs, otherwise a really nice tour. It was fun. Unfortunately, they forgot to post proper detours due to the construction work in Rurberg.
The route is exactly 26 km long. Initially it goes through Rurberg and Woffelsbach on tar road. Then it's a circular course of 8.7 km on a paved bike path, partly on a gravel path, up and down to the Hotel Seehof near Heimbach. This is a great place to stop and take a break. Then back, always follow the signs "Rurberg". After 17 km you come to the Schwammenaueler Seehof. Here, too, there is the opportunity to take a break with gastronomy. A beautiful, sometimes bumpy tour along the Rursee and through forests.
Today I cycled around the Rursee in the Eifel National Park in wonderful weather. The Rursee is a picturesque place, embedded in the pristine nature of the Eifel National Park. Surrounded by a unique scenic backdrop, it offers perfect opportunities for leisure and relaxation. Cycling tours around the Rursee are 27 kilometers long. The water was always with me. If you want to extend the tour, you can also include the Obersee and the Urftsee. https://www.relive.cc/view/vevYpJRxZJq
Today we packed our bikes onto the 🚘 and rode to the Rursee. In the sunny weather, we wanted to take a leisurely ride around the lake and stop for a bite to eat. The route continued along the lake, sometimes up and sometimes down. The paths were paved, gravel, and uneven. The views were always 🤩. At the end, there was a short but heavy thunderstorm, so we were soaking wet, and our stop for a bite literally fell through.
Last tour today, sniffle. Going home tomorrow. 🏠 But today's tour was really cool, with great trails. The weather was simply gorgeous, sunny, and these amazing views of the Rursee 🤩 I'll definitely be back, there are still so many places to visit here 😊
The first tour was short, my husband said we couldn't go home yet, so we got back on the bike and off we went 🚵🏻♂️🚵♀️
The Rursee is a magical point in the West Eifel. Despite the crowds, I found a parking space in Einruhr and then started on the eastern bank of the Rursee towards the dam. Actually a classic mountain bike route. But if you drive slowly and carefully, you will reach your destination. The route on the west bank begins at the dam wall and almost follows the waterline. The Rursee is there for many people, sailors, stand-up paddlers and boats cruise across the water surface. In Rurberg you have almost reached the starting point again.
Very nice route, however gravel most of the time, therefore not suitable for racing bikes ...
