Langsua National Park is rich in biodiversity. Keep an eye out for unique flora like the bearded bellflower, various orchids, and sedge variants. Birdwatchers might spot species such as the great snipe, hen harrier, and broad-billed sandpiper. The area is also Norway's largest grazing ground, so you'll likely see farm animals.
The trail is generally accessible during the warmer months, typically from late spring through early autumn, when the paths are clear of snow and ice. This period offers the best conditions to enjoy the lush landscapes and observe wildlife. Always check local weather forecasts before your visit.
The main highlight is reaching the shores of Røssjøkollvatnet. From the nearby Røssjøkollane Ridge, hikers can enjoy splendid views in all directions over the vast low-mountain landscape.

We happened to choose our pitch for the night in the immediate vicinity of the hiking car park "Langsua Nasjonalpark" and so of course we went straight up to Lake Røssjøkoll. In addition to wonderful views of the national park, we also discovered the very rare cloudberries (https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moltebeere) and some porcini mushrooms. 😀
