The loop begins with a ride to Mitteltal and along the Ellbach stream up to Ellbachsee. From there, the route continues a little further up to the Black Forest High Road to Schliffkopf.
Once at the top, the route takes you from the Steinmäuerle viewing platform along the 1,000-meter path to Ruhestein (900 meters). After the approximately 10-kilometer descent to Obertal-Buhlbach, another climb awaits you to the Walterhütte (785 meters).
Back in Mitteltal, the route changes sides to the summer side path and takes you through undulating terrain back to Baiersbronn.
