This route is a collection of postcards of the most impressive volcanic landscapes in Tenerife. Along the way, a palette of thousands of brown, grey and ochre tones await you, colouring an immense amount of rock and earth textures.
As expected, El Teide is the star. The colossal cone rises above the ravines and constantly appears on the horizon. The native vegetation is another of the wonders of this walk. In addition, each season offers different shades in its whimsical shapes.
You can get to El Portillo, either by private vehicle or by bus on lines 341, 342 and 348. If you are going to use your own vehicle, keep in mind that parking spaces are limited.
The route is not complicated, neither physically nor technically, and is ideal for doing it with the family. Remember to be careful with rubbish; if you bring some snacks, take them back with you to help preserve the landscape. Any debris left unchecked can blow away in one of the frequent gusts of wind.

We just barely found a parking spot at the visitor center and set off on "Sendero No. 2," a loop around Montana del Cerrillar. …

Today's tour went from Caldera through the hilly lava and sand landscape to the "Llano de Majo".
We always had a wonderful view of the highest mountain, Teide, with a height of 3718 m.

led through a bizarre and varied landscape and you could almost see the Teide 👀 you can see it in my F's 😂
PS: Contrasting program to the coast, also above the clouds where freedom is supposed to be limitless 😉
