20250525 16km hiked Pine marten Hallerbos Walk in the footsteps of the pine marten – Hallerbos Today I put on my walking shoes for a 16-kilometre hike through the beautiful Hallerbos, on the path that the pine marten also walks. The wind blew strongly through the trees and the sun hid behind thick clouds, but that did not detract from my mood. My pace was 4.3 km/h – calm but steady – and I felt that my condition was gradually going in the right direction again. Although the injuries had previously played tricks on me, I now feel that my foot is holding up better. Still, I know that I have to be careful. No more hikes of 30 kilometres, no matter how much I would like to. If I could walk 10 to 15 kilometres every day, that would mean so much. Not only physically, but also mentally. Because it is while walking that I breathe again, that I create space in my head. Walking helps me to let go. To distance myself from heavy thoughts – thoughts about love, about doubt, about the past. Today, after a moment of reflection, I decided to let it go. Not to forget, but to no longer let it weigh me down. This walk gave me peace. And in that peace I found something of love again. Not the love of someone else, but the love for life, for nature, for myself. The forest spoke without words and I listened.
Was a BEAUTIFUL walk! Muddy but definitely doable👍❤️
