The 13 brewery trail is a 34 km long hike from Memmelsdorf to Strullendorf (and vice versa). The hiker follows the marker with the red beer barrel. Of course, the route can also be followed in smaller rounds or as a multi-day hike on two or three stages. Special information boards provide information on this and provide entertainment. Opportunities for a cozy retreat, but also for the night are given. The brewing culture is still alive here: with an incredible variety of beers, real craftsmanship beyond industrial production. The Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests awarded the 13 brewery trail in Franconian Tuscany 2018 as one of "100 places of pleasure in Bavaria" as a "place of pleasure". The charming foreland and the outskirts of the Franconian Jura form the backdrop for the varied hike. Numerous cultural and natural sights are on the way.

Train and leisure line 970 brought me to Franconian Tuscany east of Bamberg. This is where rolling hills and beer culture meet, which can best be experienced on a beer hike.
