The trail is rated as having medium difficulty, requiring a good basic level of fitness. While the initial section to the Födinger Alm is relatively easy and family-friendly, some sections involve steeper inclines, particularly a short, steep ascent near the Gupf Alm. Hiking poles are recommended for this part.
Yes, the initial section of the trail leading to the Födinger Alm is considered family-friendly and even manageable with a sporty pushchair. The full loop, however, includes steeper sections that may not be suitable for all pushchairs or very young children.
The route features varied terrain, including shaded forest roads along the Laxenbach stream and open alm areas. You'll encounter a mix of gravel paths and dedicated hiking trails. Be prepared for some steeper sections, especially near the Gupf Alm.
Key highlights include the welcoming Födinger Alm (also known as Hubertushütte), which offers regional delicacies. You'll also find the Födinger Chapel (Marienkapelle) along the route. A significant highlight is the panoramic Gupfalm View of Lake Attersee, which unfolds as you approach the Hubertushütte.
The full 'Three Pasture' experience is a loop trail, leading you back to your starting point. There is also a shorter out-and-back option directly to the Födinger Alm.
The best time to hike is generally from May to October, when the Födinger Alm is typically open. In winter, the forest road leading to the Födinger Alm transforms into a popular sledding route, offering a different kind of outdoor experience.
While not explicitly stated, dogs are generally welcome on hiking trails in this region. It is always recommended to keep your dog on a leash, especially in areas with livestock or other hikers, and to clean up after them.

Yes, the Födinger Alm (Hubertushütte) serves as a popular stop offering regional delicacies. It is generally open from May to October, though specific closing days during the week may apply.
Tuesdays with the NF, from the Födingeralm car park in Weyregg on the forest road to the Födingeralm (closed on Tuesdays) then to the Gupfalm (private). Nice, relaxed round
The Gupf-Alm is no longer open, but there is a beautiful bench with a great view where you can have a snack. 😋
From Bach to the Födinger Alm to the Hubertushütte, very good food. On the way back we took the Gupf Alm, which is no longer managed. A large part of the hike was in the forest, so it was also possible in the heat. 👍
