Hiking

This challenging circuit with 1,000 meters of elevation and fantastic views takes you to the striking rocky peaks of the Three Sisters. Absolute sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for this tour. Also find out about the weather and snow conditions in advance.

You start off comfortably at the Gafadura hiking car park near Planken: In the forest, you either take a gravel road or the shorter but steeper hiking trail up to the Gafadura hut, where you can take a break. A little later, you pass the Saroja saddle and then reach the edge of the forest. First through mountain pines, then through an open rocky landscape, you climb up to a rock gate.

At an altitude of 2,051 meters, you reach the main peak of the Three Sisters via two ladders - breathtaking! You switch from Liechtenstein to Austria in the high alpine area with concentration. The descent takes you over the Garsella Alpe, where a panoramic bench is available for a break. You hike back to the Saroja saddle along mighty rock faces. The rest of the route is already familiar to you and takes you via the Gafadura hut back to the car park.

Three Sisters

Highlight • Summit

The named after a legend 3 sisters are 3 conspicuous, connected peaks in the Upper Rhine Valley, which are visible in good weather already from Lake Constance - 40 to 50 km as the crow flies and from the valley!

The whole mountain is made up of showy, rough and rugged rock that gives the mountain its distinctive appearance. Due to its exposed position in the valley, the summit - as mentioned - is already visible from afar and offers a wonderful panorama from Liechtenstein to Germany.

Attention: I have no idea why, but the main peak - the big sister - has no summit cross, but only a small landmark. (The summit is located exactly on the border between Liechtenstein and Austria)
So if you already go down to the summit crosses, missed the main summit and should turn around, because the middle and little sister can only be reached with free-climbing ;-)

There is a wooden cross with a bench on the Alpe where you can take a nice break. Enjoy the wide view!
