The textile tour comes up with many moderate climbs on longer sections of the route. As a nice day tour, it is ideal for recreational cyclists and families.
Before you start pedaling, you should definitely take a look at the Upper Franconian Textile Museum in your starting place in Helmbrechts. There you will find the longest scarf in the world - and you can even weave it yourself and make it longer!
The first seven kilometers lead you along dirt roads and through forest sections towards Schauenstein, where you meet the Selbitz, whose river course crosses your path a few times on the tour. As soon as you leave the river and turn into the forest, your calves get work. The route climbs to Marlesreuth, but then rewards you with a rapid descent back to Selbitz.
Since the tour describes a creative eight, you will pass Schauenstein a second time. Incidentally, in the imposing castle of the same name there is the Upper Franconian Fire Brigade Museum, which is not only interesting for kids.
Again and again you roll through hilly landscape, past the old weaver's house, which rounds off the textile tour. You will pass the Geigersmühle to match the end of the tour. You have now absolutely earned a hearty meal.
