The gorge is simply grand. If it has rained enough, I recommend going all the way to the end. The waterfalls are simply beautiful. However, sure-footedness is an advantage.

On the 1st day here in South Tyrol I planned the tour into the Bletterbach Gorge. It started from Maria Weißenstein in the direction of the Lahner Alm. The path is steep at the beginning, but the views are wonderful. Everything is also wonderfully signposted. In the Geoparc just before the entrance to the gorge, you get a hard hat. You also get a plan but with Komoot (planned at home) you can get to all corners of the gorge, to the waterfall and further to the view of the volcanic vent and further waterfall. Here you have to go back a little to get out of the gorge again. I chose the way back via the Schmiederalm. Here a stop and a wonderful view. The shepherd hauled in his sheep with the help of his dog, which was also very interesting. Then continue over the Schönrastalm to Maria Weißenstein.

From yesterday high in the mountains, today deep into the gorge - the Bletterbach Gorge🗿🪖 We could hardly have expected how wonderful the gorge would be👍👍👍. With a 9 euro discount you can take a circular route through the gorge and back up via the Jägersteig. We started from the pilgrimage site of Maria Weissenstein and took an individual route to the entrance of the gorge and then back to the starting point after leaving it. All in all, a highly recommended tour😊😊😊 By the way, the Lahner-Alm has excellent cuisine 👍👍👍👍👍

Anyone planning a rest should rather go to the Schmieder Alm than to the Schönrast. Schmieder is more rustic and smaller
