Premium path close to the valley via a raised bog, two alpine pastures, through the floodplain forests of the Lofer and the Klausenbach gorge to a nice resting place at a meadow pond.
The well signposted path starts at the parking lot of the Reit im Winkl festival hall. From here you follow the steps uphill to a playground. You pass this on the right side up to a house. Before this, the path leads right into a forest. Especially on hot summer days it is very cool here in the gorge. We continue along the gorge to the end. Signposts now point towards Zwerchenberg Alm. After a break, hike back to the sign and turn right here. The path leads slightly uphill to a fence. This is easy to cross by stairs. From here there is a very well signposted path with yellow markings. The hiker only has to cross the Great Stone Stream once more and then follow the path to the left to the parking lot.
The hike leads past a raised bog, the Demel-Hauseralm and a pond. So there is a lot to see and experience here.

Today we went to Reit im Winkl. With the best hiking weather, we started towards the Klausenbergalm, which we finally reached after a moderate ascent. It was simply wonderful there. Afterwards, we continued to the Klausenbachklamm, which we traversed admiring the Klammwasserfälle waterfalls. From there, we went back to the starting point via beautiful hiking trails.
[Hiking on September 19th] Around Reit im Winkl in the Chiemgau Alps there are several shorter premium hiking trails, which you can of course combine as you wish. The destination of the Klausenbachklamm premium hiking trail is already given away by the name. On the way there, however, you first go from the town center across meadows and through a fairytale forest with robber Hotzenplotz and Prince Eisenherz to the Mühlau high moor. The mountain peaks opposite are already in neighboring Tyrol. From here I hike a good 200 meters up to the Heuchenberg on a forest road with small streams trickling down on both sides. Once at the top, the elongated Demel-Hauseralm invites you to take a rest with beautiful views of the valley and mountains. The concrete path down to the Klausenbergalm and the Klausenbach is much steeper than the ascent. At first it flows quite leisurely alongside the path, but that quickly changes when a path with steps branches off down to the Klausenbach Gorge, which is not entirely safe when wet. The stream now rushes along the foot of an overhanging rock face and eventually even forms a small waterfall, which you can experience up close from a bridge. On the way back to Reit im Winkl it is not quite so wild. With a water lily pond, typical Bavarian farms and wonderfully green meadows, the area shows its most attractive side here.
On the last day, we went on a short, varied loop in Reit im Winkel. It started at the Festsaal. We passed the sports field and entered a (quite manageable) fairy tale forest. Afterwards, we crossed the Lofer and after a short climb, you reach a high moor. You can enjoy a short flat section there before the remaining altitude meters of the loop come. The first part was quite steep, but then the gradient became a bit more pleasant again. Once the approx. 200 altitude meters are overcome, you go over pastures past the Demel-Hauseralm, which is also the highest point of the loop. Of course, there were no cows there yet. After a short break, we went back downhill and past the Klausenbergalm, which only opens in June. The babbling of the Klausenbach accompanies you from here to the valley. After a short section, another highlight of the loop was reached, the Klausenbachklamm gorge. Over bumpy stairs, we went into the small but beautiful gorge. On one side of the stream is the bumpy path and on the other side is a high rock face. At the end of the gorge, you cross bridges to the other side and have a good view of a small waterfall. After leaving the gorge, we returned to the start via Alt-Blindau.
Nice, comfortable tour 😎🥾 was just right for the rainy day 😎
Unfortunately there was no water and therefore no waterfall, what a pity
It's a shame there was no water at all in the Klausenbach Gorge. That's really something to think about. Otherwise, it was a nice, strenuous hike.
Today we went to the Klausenbachklamm. There is a circular hike that you can do. No stop-offs possible on the way. But at some point after the gorge you can make a detour of about 20 minutes to get to an alpine pasture that is managed. The moor was also very nice to see. 😎😊😄
Today on Wednesday we went on the circular route to the Klausenbachklamm. 💦 Then over the Klausenbergalm and then to the Hauser-Alm. ⛰ 🐄 Then past the Hochmoor-Mühlau and then through part of the fairy tale forest back to Reit im Winkl. Just in time for the Kaiserschmarn before the rain 🌧 came.
