Premium hiking trail Chiemseeblick

Conclusion: Planned as a stopover on a longer car journey to a hiking holiday, simply to do something and not just sit in the car. But also a nice, varied tour for beginners. Highly recommended. You start full of energy in Reit im Winkl, briefly admire the pretty chapel at the beginning, take a kitschy-beautiful view of the Kaiser Mountains, and then head off towards the Wetterkreuz – steep, sweaty, but with a great panoramic reward. Once at the top: view, selfie, short breather. Then continue through the forest, over wooden walkways and meadows to the Hutzenalm – a stopover with an idyllic alpine setting and perhaps the first cycling reward? Of course! Not enough yet? Then up to the Stoibenmöseralm, past ancient trees that have seen more than most grandparents. There, you finally get Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) with a view of Lake Chiemsee. If you haven't fallen asleep yet, continue hiking to Sonnwendköpfl, which we didn't. We had to go back. Up to this point, by the way, there were ONLY narrow paths; the following haulage route was mixed, but with significantly more forest trails (but that was okay, because we were in a hurry). Due to the dry weather, the Klausenbach Gorge was dry at the end of the tour. There was soooo little water. What a shame. Otherwise, it was certainly an interesting spectacle. But you can't have everything. It was a beautiful, sunny (hot) day. And that's why the cold water of the Kneipp pool at the end felt twice as good.

Very nice and varied hike. The ascent was very steep and sweaty. Once at the top, you can stop at the Stoibenmöseralm. Delicious lard stulls are served.

We discovered today's hiking trail online some time ago and saved it for "someday". The description on "https://www.bergwelten.com/t/w/12776" sounded very promising: "This challenging day hike in the Chiemgau Alps in Bavaria is characterized above all by its alpine character. Narrow paths lead up to the Stoibenmöseralm (1,275 m). The paths alone deserve the "premium" rating, not least because of the wonderful views." Today the "someday" time had come and we were able to enjoy this wonderful hike. Only before the Stoibenmöseralm did we extend the prescribed route with a detour to the Sonnenwendköpfl, which offered a magnificent view. The place "Reit im Winkl" is a beautiful place that we really liked. It was a perfect day in the Chiemgau Alps. Greetings to you, wherever you are 🗺️. We hope you have a good time 🖖

Great tour, had everything a hiker's heart could desire. Highly recommended if you're in the Chiemgau region.

From Reit im Winkel to the Wetterkreuz, Hutzenmoser Alm with delicious food, up to the Stoibenmoseralm with a view of Lake Chiemsee. Tour is well marked by the magazine Alpin with signposts "Chiemseeblickrunde" and still few on the way. Difficulty red & black, steep but very easy to walk on.

Tormented at an altitude of 1290. Fortunately, the Stoibenmöseralm was open. There was pure refreshment and Spackfeddbemme. The view of the Chiemsee was a bit hazy.

Today, due to the length and condition of the trail, I was out solo 🙋🏻‍♀️. A beautiful hike that definitely deserves the "Premium" rating 🔝! Contrary to the directions, however, I changed my direction and, after the Wetterkreuz, headed for the Chiemseeblick viewpoint. After the break 🍺🥔 at the Stoibenmöseralm, I couldn't resist the detour to the Taubensee, and it would have been a real shame if I had missed it – a dream 🤩 of a mountain lake! Back at the Stoibenmöseralm, I then began the descent ↘ into the valley, which again offered such incredibly beautiful views that it sometimes brought tears to my eyes. In short, a very worthwhile hike that you should take your time for. Some of the trails are quite challenging (both uphill and, especially, downhill), and there are also some tricky sections. If you're used to walking with poles, you're well advised to use them (but I've discovered that you can do without them too 😉). Fitness and appropriate footwear are essential anyway 😉.
