Finally sun again and finally dry conditions again, so the best cycling weather. So it was clear that there was only one goal today - "let's get out", enjoy the fresh air and our beautiful area by bike. To start the new cycling year, however, I first had to take a leisurely "cycle" with my Kalkhoff touring bike and for that I chose the cycle tour no. 10, a ready-made "circuit" from the Nuremberger Land homepage. The tour starts at the Happurger Stausee (“Seeterrassen” parking lot is chargeable or free at the Catholic church), which is beautifully nestled between the Houbirg mountain range and the Deckersberg. Together with my old friend Norbert we went well wrapped up through the beautiful landscape of southern Hersbruck Switzerland in blistering temperatures. The circular tour can and should be supplemented by various rest stops, for example the restaurants in Schupf or Lieritzhofen. At the weekend I also recommend a visit to the Edelweißhütte near Deckersberg, a popular excursion destination in the region and here you can also find the key for the observation tower on the Arzberg. When visibility is good, you have a great view over the Franconian Alb in the Nuremberg region as far as the Franconian Forest and the Fichtel Mountains. The scenic tour ends with a visit to the lake terraces with a view of the reservoir and the “Hohler Fels”. Nice tour, it was worth it.
