Super fun hike, lots of forest and nature. Lots of deer tracks and wild boar rooting sites. Unfortunately, no wildlife spotted 🤨

I didn't know Belgium was so beautiful. What a great bike tour!👍🏻

The tour began and ended on Sunday at the free car park at the Maasmechelen Village shopping village in Belgium (opening hours daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Not far from the starting point is the National Park Center in the former Terhill mining area. We headed to the floating pontoon bridge, the first highlight of the tour, full of anticipation. It actually floats on the water surface and will not be opened until 2024. A beautiful wave-shaped bridge with a fine gravel surface. We continued on asphalt paths - even in the woods - to "cycle through the water" in Bokrijk, where you cycle more than 200 meters through a pond. It's fun to see all the heads floating past on the water surface. After that we went to the almost 300 meter long wooden bridge between Zutendaal and Maasmechelen. Another eye-catcher in this beautiful region. After I got back to the starting point, I pushed my bike to the top of the old spoil heap (without recording). Cycling is prohibited here. I wanted to take a look at the floating bridge from above. It was worth it, despite the muddy stretch of road. It was a really nice tour with lots of sunshine and new impressions. I'll be back!

'cycling through water' in Bokrijk...a unique cycling experience where you cycle more than 200 meters through a large pond...(or walk, or jog)...in the middle the water is at eye level on both sides...you feel, see and smell the water...very special to see this once...I planned the route in such a way that I stayed ahead of the big crowds, because I wanted to take some pictures without people in them...it took a while, but I succeeded...I was visited by 2 ducks...quack, quack...I didn't take any further pictures on this cycling route...a not very spectacular route on well-maintained cycle paths and through beautiful surroundings...that's why only pictures of 'cycling through water'...it was perfect cycling weather, despite the heat...I enjoyed it!😁
