Hiking

Four mountains in one round trip and in between you can expect picturesque valleys, vast forests and fantastic views. Starting from the car park at the "Frauenbusch", you first walk past the Erlenmühle. The next highlight is not far away: the Rauhbuur rock area impresses with its massive tuff walls. You hike along rustic forest paths to the Schweinsgraben and then it is worth taking a detour to the impressive rock gorges of the Marxe-Lay.

Next comes the climb up the first mountain, the Gänsehals. You reach its summit with its observation tower via a detour. At the Schmitzkopf, a wonderful panorama awaits you at the edge of the forest. Back in the forest, you continue to mountain number three: the Sulzbusch - at the St. Florian Hut you can enjoy a truly dream view. At the foot of the fourth mountain you pass some sand caves and then climb to the summit of the Hochstein. At the top, explore the Genovevahöhle and the adjacent observation rock. Now we are heading back to the starting point.

Layfelsen Tuff Quarry

Highlight • Structure

The Layfelsen are mighty tuff stone walls that were created in the last century by the removal of tuff stone for baking ovens. The smooth rock faces rise up to 30 m in height. A beautiful path leads through the man-made rock landscape of the former quarry.

Genoveva Cave

Highlight • Cave

When you look at the Genoveva Cave, you can easily imagine how people used to seek shelter there. In the ARD fairy tale adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin, the Genoveva Cave was one of the filming locations, along with Bürresheim Castle. Above the Genoveva Cave, there is a small viewing platform. You have a beautiful view of Lake Laach.

The tour deserves 5 stars. It takes you through the Eifel region along small paths, past rock formations, and offers stunning views of the Eifel Mountains.

On my trip to Bonn, I "took" this route with a stopover. 😊 After all, it's not supposed to be so nice tomorrow. 🌥️
Some nice views, nice forest passages and a few rocks so not bad. 👍 But could have more path parts, it goes a lot over wide forest paths.
A word about the length: the path is …

The Hochstein is always strenuous. But there is so much to see. I love this dream trail

A tour that, despite all the effort, is highly recommended!
Beautiful paths, beautiful views and many small and large highlights.
The forest section at the beginning of the round, from the Schweinsgraben car park...absolutely great and the two old quarries with gigantic steep walls were also very impressive.
The steep ascent to the Hochstein was tough again towards the end...a …

Today a dream path in the Eifel that lives up to its name with an extra two kilometers. Beautiful valleys, great views along the paths from the four mountains, caves, rocks and small gorges. Very nice to walk paths that are also very well marked like all dream paths.. Absolutely great tour, which also compensates for the heavy shower just …

Today a wonderful hike in my "heart home" 😍
Dream path "four mountains tour", I found this tour on Komoot, started in Bell and came to the dream path via a 500 m long access path.
It's not difficult to see that I'm really excited about the many colorful birdhouses along the way 😇
The small detour to "Marxe Lay", …

A very nice loop, today in perfect conditions. For me, one of the most beautiful trails I've walked so far, and I've completed almost all of them.

The route is mostly shaded and in the forest. A few short sections are over fields. A few short, moderate climbs. A very great loop.
