At 8°C, the hike starts at the train station in Lautenbach. Then it's... uphill 😁. I stop at the first rest area and enjoy the fantastic view!!! With the 🔭 I can see the Moosturm and Geigerskopfturm 🥰. The climb to the Satteleich Hut is quite steep, and at times a bit boring, on wide forest paths. On the Sohlberg, you have great views of the Hornisgrinde and, on the other side, the Renchtal. From here, it's downhill, past the beautiful witch's house, with constant views towards Hornisgrinde all the way to the Fiesmichl ☕🍰. My route takes me past 2-3 more liquor stations 🙂, which I, of course, don't try, since I'm there with 🚗. At the end, there's another fantastic panoramic view of the Renchtal and Lautenbach. I had to check out the pilgrimage church of St. Mary's Coronation 🙏 very beautiful!!! --- A beautiful hike. I imagine something different when it comes to a "trail"; you'd expect more wide forest gravel paths. The lovely rest areas and, in perfect weather, the views are sure to be amazing 👍. A lucky worm found me again this time 😍 I was very happy.

The stand has been on my list for a long time 👉🦹 It is a bit confusing that it is sometimes signposted as the Hexensteig and sometimes as a snack hike, and in some places it is simply marked with the yellow diamond. The route also seems to have changed slightly. But very nice, especially on a beautiful spring day

In Lautenbach, hikers are spoiled for choice: Hexensteig 🧙‍♀️ or Teufelsteig 👹... Fritz and I didn't want the "torture" and so we chose both tours on two consecutive days. We hiked the Teufelsteig yesterday and the Hexensteig today. Which of the two was nicer? I can't decide either, because both have a lot to offer, some altitude, wonderful valleys, views and are lovingly designed, especially the schnapps fountains😅. We started right in the town from the train station and then steadily uphill. It was a bit cloudy in the morning, but we still had a good view of the Renchtal. On the flank of the side valley, which rises to the Sohlberg, we passed beautiful viewpoints and the Steig- and Satteleichhütte. We continued up to the witch's house. We had a short rest with a view of the upper farms. Below the Sohlberg, you have a wonderful view of the Rhine plain and you can see the southern foothills of the Black Forest. The sun did the rest and shone on the mountain meadows. The first schnapps fountain at the Steighof followed. After a further climb, we reached the top of the Sohlberg pass with views towards the Renchtal and Hornisgrinde. A dream up here. There are many cherry trees and horses here and of course a schnapps for us after this long climb. The next, beautifully designed witch's house followed and then we went, past the Simmersbacher Kreuz, relaxed down on meadow paths to stop at the mountain snack bar "Zum Fiesemichel" with a sun terrace. It was so warm and nice to sit here and there are delicious, local dishes that I couldn't resist. After fried potatoes with Bibiliskäs and a shandy, we continued on. Now we went through the forest and steeply downhill to the Kohlerhof. A beautiful forest path runs along the slope here and then there are wide meadows that open up the view all the way to Strasbourg. At the Basler Eck there is the so-called "Sepp's Ruhebank", a lovingly designed rest area with flowers, decorations and of course a drinking fountain. Fritz had meanwhile run ahead because he was afraid we wouldn't catch our bus. I treated myself to a delicious eggnog and had to enjoy the beautiful spot. The last stretch into the valley and along the Rench to the church took us on narrow paths. Fritz was at the bus stop a quarter of an hour before the bus left, I was 7 minutes after him. Well, the bus was over 10 minutes late anyway. A fantastic hiking tour that I can only recommend to everyone🤩.

Beautiful panoramic tour with surprising views over and over again.

Finally got started. I was always very wary of the long route but now I'm glad I tackled it. A beautiful, varied hike. There are lots of drinks cabinets and you can take a break at comfortable seating areas. You can also fit in a break or two or three... 😉......

Next year during Carnival season, we "witches" from the Black Forest Association will definitely hike the Hexensteig trail, dressed as real witches. 🧙‍♀️Today we started in Lautenbach and climbed 5 km up the mountain. The views are simply magnificent, and along the way, you'll encounter several schnapps fountains and witches' brooms, witch's houses, a cat 🐈‍⬛, and not to forget the bright red toadstools! 🍄 The second half is much more interesting and entertaining, given the variety of different trails! Today was a golden September day with blue skies and sunshine. The paths were lined with chestnut trees 🌰, walnuts, and colorful leaves. We had delicious cake and coffee at the Fiesemichel, although it's closed for Carnival. But we witches will still make ourselves comfortable; tables and benches everywhere invite you to a merry feast! A fantastic witches' trail!

After the Kappelrodecker Hexensteig, now the Lautenbacher. For me the prettier of the two 😃 🌫️⬆️🌞⬇️🌫️
