A beautiful varied cycling route through the forest along the water and across the countryside.
Tour-57-09-21- Nederlandse Bergtour- Sallandse Heuvelrug-72km Start at the car pool of the A1 exit 27 Holten, very easy and quick to reach, but also ideal for train drivers at the train station in Holten. Right from the start on tour with beautiful paths to the place Holten, small but nice and very lively place, which is particularly noticeable at the train station. Then already directly in the forest area "Holter Berg" and here 2km with a loop from the tour path to the remarkable Canadian Heroes' Cemetery of the fallen soldiers in World War II. We continue 30km on Sand-u. Tar paths a bit bumpy through the great forest u. Blooming heather landscapes up to Hellendoorn, known for the large adventure park. Short and beautiful through the Hellendoorner forest with a detour to the neighboring town of Nijverdal, where the Fietssnellweg F35 begins and runs via Almelo, Hengelo to Enschede. And then back to the Holterberg, parallel to the outward stretch on the sandy but great mountain path through the great mountain landscape of the forests and heath. Great thing, there are dusty bikes, but you have to ride them (!) Recommended on this tour is always a loop to Rijssen, a fine city with great bike paths through the city and a great area with the Rijsserberg in the Rijsserveld and a "Black Forest." "is also available here (! - :) A great bike tour every year! Exciting, partly sporty bike paths, never boring. Enthusiastic every cyclist and nature lover anyway - :)
Finally again - in the Sallendse Heuvelrug National Park - Op de Holter Berg (NL) Start at the carpool at the A1 exit 27 Holten, very easy to get to and you can start straight away with the beautiful routes in the small forest area on the Zuurberg 3.5 km to the town of Holten, a small, fine and yet very busy town on the Holter Berg forest area with the Sallendse Heuvelrug nature reserve. In Holten at the train station there are perfect cycle paths into the forest area and after just 2.5 km the first highlight with the Canadian Heroes' Cemetery of the fallen soldiers in World War II, a very beautiful, interesting place. Then a virtually non-stop 30 km bike path without end through the great forest and heath landscapes with a transition to the forest area on the Hellendoornsche Berg with the large, well-known adventure play park. And non-stop isn't quite right, of course. There are countless motifs along the route with the blossoming heath landscape for a photo stop and of course the former country estate of the textile manufacturer Palthe on the Sprengenberg, an impressive picture, even from a distance. Variety and absolutely recommended, on beautiful paths with 9 km in the countryside on the Midden Regge near Hellendoorn to the town of Nijverdal, from here the Fietssnellweg F35 begins via Almelo, Hengelo to Enschede. But back to the forest area on the Holterberg, another 16 km on the sandy but great mountain paths through the unique mountain landscape of the forests and heath, it does make for dusty bikes, but you have to try it at least once -:) Finally, the recommended loop to Rijssen, a fine town with great bike paths through the city and a great surrounding area with the Rijsserberg in the Rijsserveld and the "Hollandse Schwarzwald" and "Little Switzerland" -:) After 10 km through Rijssen, in Middelveen, it's 6 km back on quiet, beautiful country roads to the carpool on the A1. Great tour with Gerd, who came especially from the "region" and brought great weather with him, well almost -:) The tour inspires every cyclist! Exciting, sometimes sporty bike paths, in a great landscape on the Holter and Hellendoornsche Berg, very varied, never boring. There are only dusty bikes -:)
