For today's city tour, I took the train to Memmingen. This independent city lies on the border with Baden-Württemberg and is surrounded by the Unterallgäu district. Memmingen is also known as the "City of Civil Liberties" (1525). The 500th anniversary of this historic event will be celebrated in 2025 (https://www.stadt-der-freiheitsrechte.de/). Today, there was a weekly market on the market square, so it was very busy. The city park (Neue Welt), on the other hand, was relatively quiet and offered plenty of places to relax.
