Hiking
In Fundy National Park on New Brunswick’s south coast, you’ll observe the highest tides on our planet, while there are stunning waterfalls and delightful woodland to discover inland. On this hike, the beautiful Laverty Falls waterfall is found in the heart of a lush maple, birch and beech forest, which is particularly colourful in autumn.
From the trailhead, the well-travelled path is signposted, making it almost impossible to get lost. However, the path is occasionally rooty and rocky, so sturdy hiking footwear is recommended. After just over 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) of easy downhill walking, the forest’s tranquillity makes way for the sound of the waterfall. Natural pools invite you to cool off on hot summer days, while they’re a marvellous sight all year round.
You can either return the same way, or complete a loop by switching to the Moosehorn Trail at Laverty Falls, extending the hike from 5 to 7 kilometres (3 to 4 mi).
