The Hennesee loop is, so to speak, the little sister of the SauerlandRadring. It connects it to the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path and, at 40 kilometers, is a wonderful route including a crowning conclusion at Lake Hennesee.

On a beautiful (celebration - grin) day, a very beautiful route in "unknown" territory. Mostly beautiful cycle paths or old railway lines (great). No bat tunnel, grin. Next time... With various small stops, delicious ice cream in Meschede! Also a "delicious" café at the start/car park; Landbäckerei Sommer... a very beautiful day!!!
This is the Hennesee or northern loop of the Sauerland Cycle Ring. Between Wennemen and Meschede, we ride along the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route, definitely not a highlight of this circuit and certainly not part of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route. If you're doing the tour as a day trip from the Ruhr region, I would start in Wennemen. As is often the case along the cycle ring, you'll find plenty of free parking directly along the cycle path. The density of Kneipp water treading pools at rest areas is also striking.
Today we drove the Henneseeschleife on the Sauerlandradring. The starting point was the parking lot in Berge, right next to the cycle path. The circular route is nice to drive. Unfortunately in some sections along federal and country roads, (but it works), but in other sections idyllic over old railway lines and quite a bit along the Hennesee.
On our first Sauerland tour🚲, we started at our accommodation🏨 in Nichtinghausen. We headed toward Lake Hennesee🏖️, which we followed to the dam. We stopped for coffee☕and cake🍰 in Meschede. Then we headed to Wennemen. We crossed the Ruhr several times along the way. We rode along a pleasant railway path🛤️ until just before Eslohe. From there, it was only a few kilometers to the starting point. The weather was consistently dry, overcast☁️, and temperatures🌡️ were around 19 degrees.
The great weekend was over, but of course we still wanted to take advantage of the good weather 🌞 for a ride. We chose the Hennesee Loop and were thrilled. Beautiful bike paths, magnificent views. It was a perfect end to our Sauerland short trip :O)
After the morning rain clouds had cleared, we were able to tackle our first Sauerland lap. After a short stretch along a main road, we went on the Sauerland-Radring and the Wennetal-Radweg to the Himmelstreppe near Meschede on the Hennesee. But we only looked at the stairs from above. Then we circled the Hennesee on a wonderful bike path. A route to enjoy. The rest of the tour was uphill and downhill overland to the starting point. That was something different than our flat country at home.

Good morning from Attendorn,
is the loop also marked with a waymark?
Thanks in advance for an answer and "Breeze up!".
